Just to let you know, the Facebook share function over at the Guardian article is not working properly, though the Twitter one seems to be. Hate to see a good article (or writer) robbed of worthy buzz, so I thought I’d let you know!

Great article Rambo. My favourite ever Alan line remains ‘using the sausage as a breakwater between the egg and the beans.’
It is one of the greats. I also love the ‘scam’ he has going with a twelve inch plate.
